Service Description

Red light therapy (RLT) is a treatment that uses low-wavelength red light to improve your skin’s appearance, such as reducing wrinkles, scars, redness, and acne. Red light therapy is thought to work by acting on the “power plant” in your body’s cells called mitochondria. By increasing the energy of the mitochondria, cells can do their work more efficiently, such as repairing skin, boosting new cell growth, and enhancing skin rejuvenation. More specifically, certain cells absorb light wavelengths and are stimulated to work. Benefits of Red Light Therapy: - promote wound healing and tissue repair - reduce some cancer treatment side effects such as oral mucositis, radiation dermatitis, and lymphedema - improve hair growth in people with alopecia - treat short-term carpal tunnel syndrome - reduce myopia progression - reduce psoriasis lesions and burn scars - reduce neuropathic pain - improve neural function and protection to improve cognition and memory - stimulate collagen production, giving skin its structure, strength, and elasticity - increase blood circulation to the tissue - reduce inflammation in cells How often should Red Light Therapy be used? Depending on the level of treatment per client, the average recommended use of red-light therapy is 2-3 times per week for 15 - 20 minutes. Rather than treating the issue on the surface or merely masking it, red light therapy boosts your cells’ natural healing abilities. Everybody is different and responds to treatment in their own way and at their own speed. It’s like working out, some people gain muscle and drop pounds easily (much to the frustration of their peers), while others are more slow to see progress. The important thing is to remain consistent and to track your progress.
